This article will outline the steps required to configure the firewall port settings for your SOLIDWORKS SolidNetwork License Manager (SNL) and your SOLIDWORKS PDM installation. The Steps for opening ports for inbound and outbound traffic is the same for each port.
This Table lists the ports that must be open on the listening/receiving side.
Opening Ports:
Load the Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security.
- Open the Control Panel.
- On the Adjust your computer’s settings page, click Windows Defender Firewall.
- In the left pane, click Advanced settings.
Step 1
To create a rule select Inbound Rules:

Select New Rule:
Step 3
Select the port radio button and click next:
In this example we are opening all the ports for a client PC in a single rule. Note that each port could be assigned to an individual rule.
*If the client is installed outside a PDM environment only the SNL ports are required. (25734, 25735) We opted not to open the web server ports.

We are applying the rule to TCP Ports 3030, 1433, 1434, 25734, 25735. After entering the ports separated by a comma select next:

Allow the connection and select next:

Select the profile where this rule applies and select next:
*Domain, Private, and Public are selected by default. Check with your IT security if you are unsure which selections to make.

Name your port connections and select next:

We can now verify the rule was created, we should see a line in the Inbound Rules with our new rule:
It is recommended that you open the corresponding UDP ports to allow the server to broadcast itself on the network.
