If you already like the ease-of-use and file management capabilities of PDM Professional, you’ll want to keep an eye on SOLIDWORKS Manage. This new addition to the data management product line will give you a higher level of item management and the ability to manage resources, project timelines and complex business processes.
Organizations that take advantage of this new product will be able to consolidate the (often disconnected) tools they use to manage engineering resources and processes. For many of our customers, this could be anything from dedicated project management tools to SharePoint sites to Excel files. And each system requires upkeep and time spent training users.
The project management functionality in SOLIDWORKS Manage is a better solution. Organizations using it will be able to plan each stage of a project, assign resources, assign tasks and attach relevant documentation. Project progress is automatically updated when users complete their work, and powerful dashboards give project managers and management the dashboard capabilities they need to see critical information quickly. As a bonus it’s simple for users to learn and leverages the familiar Windows Explorer interface of SOLIDWORKS PDM.
Current SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional customers will be able to easily upgrade to SOLIDWORKS Manage starting in 2018.
